Sourdough Ranch Info

There are rules and policies that govern the activity on the Ranch, the same as found in other organizations where society requires some regulation.

The Corporation does not sell camp sites or membership to the public. The Corporation membership is limited to 800 members and the only way a person can buy into the Ranch is by buying from a previous owner who wishes to sell their membership. Sales are therefore between individuals and a Certificate of new ownership is required. A reference list of available sites for sale is available upon request from the Ranch Office.

The Ranch is managed by a ten member elected Board of Trustees with Corporate Officers and Management personnel.

A rules and policy manual is available which outlines the regulations that govern the Ranch and its members. (Available upon request from the Ranch Office).

Building restrictions limit a camp site to only a small (144 square feet) shed, fire pits, and a parking pad for Recreational Vehicles ie campers, trailers, motor homes etc. An R.V. unit can say on the Ranch indefinitely but must be self-contained and if kept on a camping site during the winter should have an engineered approved snow canopy built over it to protect the R.V. from the winter conditions.

The Fishing and Hunting is controlled by rules in the Regulation Manual. Fish are furnished by the Ranch and no state license is required. The limits are set by the Ranch and fish user permits are required for other than an owner (husband, wife and kids of owner under 18). A five or ten person permit is available for guests of an owner at a nominal fee.

ATVs can be ridden by an owner and their guests on the Ranch. Owners only ATVs are allowed on the Ranch and have to be registered and an identification sticker for each ATV has to be purchased at s small cost.

The Ranch is a gated area with full time management and staff that provide maintenance on the roads and ranch as a whole.

There is no power on the Ranch and the property is pristine in nature and is subject to all inclement weather and conditions that are prevalent with mountainous areas. There are several upgrades springs that water can be obtained from and several fishing ponds that can be fished leisurely and easily. A kids fishing pond for young age 3-12 is also available year around with stocked fish.

Further information can be obtained by calling the Sourdough Office Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.     1-801-393-5232.
